RULES
1. Check in/Arrivals from 12:00 - 9:00 pm on Thursday, November 5th
Thursday check-in is Not Mandatory If you are not getting a stall or staying on the grounds, you may check in with the office Before you run. Fees must be paid by the designated times.
Barrel Racing Office is located in the Exhibition Lower Hall by Hale Arena. Please come to check in when you arrive. Have your negative coggins (dated within a year) with you at check in. Stalls will be pre-assigned, no moving to a different stall. Stalls are all indoors & in heated area. The Tom Bass Covered Arena is not heated but is very close to the arena for exercising horses. There will be NO barrels at any time set up in Bass arena. Feed Room service is available with Purina Feeds-Strategy, Omolene 200, Brome Hay & Shavings. Call if you will need a different Purina Feed so we will have it there for you. Water is nearby in stalling area.
You may purchase warm ups, stalls, Entry & pay late fee's upon arrival on Thursday. Office will close at 9:00 pm prompt on Thursday. Any Late Entries are CASH or CREDIT CARD ONLY. The late fee of $20.00/rider per day or $40.00 Max./rider to enter 2 - 3 races will be applied – No exceptions.
Late Entry/Selling of Spots/Horse Substitution Closing times for each race;
Thursday 8:00 pm for Fridays Race
Friday 8:00 pm for Saturdays Race
Saturday 8:00 pm for Sundays Race.
2. There will be 3 Races with a minimum of $2,000.00 Added to Each Race. All 3 Races are ABRA, BBR & WPRA/Jr. WPRA Co-Approved Prairie Circuit & Great Lakes Circuit.
3. No REFUNDS after Pre Entry deadline for any reason. You are welcome to sell your "spot(s)", it is your responsibility to collect your money & notify us. The buyer must also notify us & pay a $10.00 processing fee before being allowed to compete. You can also substitute a horse by notifying us & paying a $10.00 substitution fee. This all must be done before 8:00 PM the day before race you are entering.
4. HORSE & RIDER Combination Must run in the Position drawn. Disqualification will result if you run out of order. PRE-Draw will be online at www.americanroyalbarrelrace.com by Monday, Nov. 1, 2010. Draw will also be posted on the Office area Wall each evening. The Draw posted at the Event will take Precedence over the Online Draw. Make sure and double check your position when you arrive.
5. All reruns will be the decisions of the Arena Director. Rerun will be on fresh drag. Arena Director’s decisions are FINAL. A horse falling during the run or tack failure, will not receive a rerun.
6. A horse may enter each race only once. (Exception for family rule.) You may enter as many horses per race as you wish.
7. We will be using 2 holding pens. At the start of each race Contestants #1-5 will be in the Runners Pen, and Runners #6-10 will be in the Holding Pen, and so on. Please check in with Gate Person before entering the Holding Pen. You Must be in the Holding Pen for your drag or forfeit your run. Failure to answer 3 gate calls will result in Officials scratch. We will be Dragging after every 5 whether there is a scratch or full sets. Big drags with barrels pulled out every 50.
8. Contestants will receive a no time for knocking over a barrel or breaking the pattern. Forward motion must be maintained at opening of arena, no circling.
9. No dogs or critters are allowed in the arena area during the race. Failure to follow this rule will result in officials scratch. This will be enforced for everyone's safety.
10. Dress Code will be Long sleeved shirt & western boots required. Western Hat or Helmets are Optional. No other hats are allowed as this will be grounds for disqualification. If you choose to wear your Western Hat or Helmet, there will be a fine of $10 if it comes off in the arena. You must pay this fine before you receive your hat or helmet back.
11. Excessive whipping, jerking or tuning your horse in the competition arena will Not be tolerated. You will be warned and asked to leave the arena. $100.00 fine will be assessed if request is not followed.
12. W-9 Forms are available in the Barrel Racing Office and must be signed by anyone before receiving prize money.
13. No circling a barrel more than 1 time during your competition run. A $40.00 fine will assessed. This fine must be paid before competing again.
14. Absolutely no circling in the arena. Contestant must keep forward motion once their horse's nose has crossed the plane of the alleyway and the arena. Circling will result in a no time.
15. The American Royal Barrel Race Staff reserves the right to refuse ANY entry. Any Rule Not Covered will be dealt with by our Barrel Racing Arena Director and there will be no appeals allowed.
16. Warm up times are available during this time only;
Thursday, Nov. 5th from 4:00-9:00 p.m.
(Times subject to change if we get more than 250 warm ups)
17. Payback: All 3 Races are Separate Payoff. There are no finals. All 3 Races are 4D Format. 4D Format is as follows; 1D is fastest time of the race, 2D is the fastest time of the race plus ½ second, 3D is the fastest time of the race plus 1 second, 4D is the fastest time of the race plus 2 seconds. 75% EF Payout & 100% Added Money Payout.
18. Return Check Fee: $30.00 plus bank fee's. Then you must pay cash to enter race(s)
19. Contestant agrees to participate in this American Royal Barrel Race Event at Contestant's own risk. Contestant hereby releases and discharges the American Royal and it's directors, officers, representatives, employees, agents and volunteers, from all liability, loss, claims, damages and expenses for injuries to person, property, reputation or financial condition as a result of or in any way relating to Contestant's participation or failure to participate in this American Royal Barrel Race, whether caused by negligence, by arena or facility conditions, by the conduct of the American Royal or it's directors, officers, representatives, employees, agents and volunteers, or failure to enforce any rules, regulations or guidelines, or otherwise. Contestant knows and agrees that by his or her signature on this form, he or she completely releases the American Royal and/or its directors, officers, representatives, employees, agents and volunteers, for any liability, including negligence. Contestant voluntarily chooses to participate in this barrel racing event, freely and willingly consents to same.
Fall Race will have Prizes for Average winners in each division. You must be entered in all the races to be eligible. Same horse/rider combination. 1/2, 1/2, whole splits.
